One of the biggest issues facing businesses and organisations is the cost and time of updating their websites – often updates are costed at an hourly rate, meaning that a five-minute update can carry a heavy price, and the time taken from the ‘request’ to the ‘delivery’ of an update is often far too long.
Does this sound familiar?
• I want to add some text to a page, how do I do it?
• I want to remove an out of date page, how do I do it?
• I want to add a news item today, how do I do that?
• I want to add some new pictures to my site, how do I do it?
A content management system is a system used to organise content in many different formats including text, images, PDF’s and other forms of information. Content is organised in such a way that different formats can be presented on one page, offering a very rich and dynamic user experience (the site you are looking at right now has been created using the content management system Joomla) .The beauty of a content management system is that anyone with basic training can use it, and effectively become an in-house webmaster!
We use Joomla (previously known as Mambo) to create effective sites. Joomla is a very powerful system, giving people with little or no experience of building websites the ability to create, modify and remove images, text and pages on their own site. In short it gives website owners autonomy over their sites.
We provide training on how to use Joomla to every client for whom we design a site, tailoring each session to their specific requirements, and backing up with documentation as a reference guide.
